Well, I don't know how many people actually "follow" my blog anymore after my long hiatus, but I'm back and here to tell you I have a good reason for my absenteeism! Check it out!
My sweet husband graduated with his masters degree AND we learned that we are expecting a little surprise. We are so excited! The above photo is how I announced it to the Facebook world (if you've seen my classroom photos you know I've been a little obsessed with the Dr. Seuss theme this year :)
Unfortunately I was very sick for the first 18 weeks or so, which made blogging (and everything else!) just about the last priority on my list. I'm 23 weeks now and past the half-way point, hooray!
To reveal the gender of our little peanut to our family and friends I made these delicious cake pops and my students opened a box of colored helium balloons. They were ecstatic. Wish I could share the video of their reactions.
And it's a....
GIRL!
They say kids can be intuitive about this kind of thing and my students certainly seemed to be. I had significantly more boy students than girls, and thought they would just vote according to their own gender, but indeed my students and coworkers all voted heavily for team girl and they were right!
We can't wait to meet our little Zoe.
Well, now that I'm officially back to the blogging world, feeling a little better, AnD it's summer, I suppose I don't have such a good reason not to blog, so I promise to be back soon with retroactive teaching updates and updates about summer school.
CONGRATS on the big news (and to your hubby of course)! I love your ideas of reveal the gender to your friends and kiddos. Can't wait to read more updates!
